Nuclear option 2 Years, 8 Months ago Karma: 0
Nuclear technology is the best option despite the social distrust,we need a nuclear renaissance in educating the public;there is an urgent need to re-evaluate the role of nuclear power in maintaining adequate stable and economic energy supplies in future.Nuclear scienctist needs to be open and transparent in order to increase the credibility of the nuclear community and to improve the public acceptance of nuclear power and to challenge the public perception of nuclear technology.

Well, I do agree that Nuclear might be the way to go. Other than the fact that there's so much distrust around Nuclear, there's a question of waste disposal. Some countries are so big that they don't have a problem in findind sites where they can do so. How about smaller countries as well as those who are happy to pay other countries so they can use those countries as areas to do so?

Normally such is done to pour countries who desperately need foreign currency and are trying to make something for themselves other than waiting for donors. If this issue can be addressed, we are on the right track.

Nuclear is also an expensive option. In the whole of Africa, only South Africa is generating from Nuclear.

So, two issues: Waste disposal as well as costs will remain a hindrance.
